Leave Tbilisi early for a full-day introduction to Kakheti. The programme combines a historic estate, a planned local lunch, a town walk and a monastery visit.
Begin at Tsinandali, associated with Prince Alexander Chavchavadze. During the 19th century, the estate became a gathering place for writers, musicians and public figures. Its history also connects traditional Georgian winemaking with the development of European-style production. Explore the museum and park with time to appreciate both the family story and the estate’s cultural setting.
After lunch, continue to Sighnaghi for a walk and viewpoints. Finish at Bodbe, associated with Saint Nino, whose work was central to the spread of Christianity in Georgia during the 4th century. Her burial place is traditionally venerated here.

The proposed route includes the Narikala viewpoint area, subject to access, followed by Shardeni, Sioni, Anchiskhati and the Gabriadze clock-tower area. Cross the Bridge of Peace towards Rike Park before returning to the hotel or continuing independently.

Depart early for a day combining Georgia’s ancient capital with its mountain heritage.
Visit Jvari above the meeting of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers, then continue to Mtskheta and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Mtskheta was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Kartli and retained its spiritual importance after the political centre moved to Tbilisi. Its UNESCO-listed monuments illustrate different stages of Georgian church architecture; the present Svetitskhoveli Cathedral dates principally from the 11th century.
Continue north with lunch and roadside breaks. In the Kazbegi area, visit Gergeti Trinity Church using suitable local transport. Dating from the 14th century, the church brings together medieval architecture and a dramatic mountain setting.

Continue to Noravank, where medieval buildings stand within a rocky landscape. Its stone decoration and sculptural details reward close observation.
After a planned local lunch, visit Areni-1 Cave. Excavations revealed an early winemaking installation dated to around 4000 BC, alongside other remarkable finds, including a preserved leather shoe. Continue to the Symphony of Stones for a landscape excursion before lunch.
At Geghard, explore a monastery whose present appearance developed principally during the 13th century. Its buildings and rock-cut spaces show how architecture could be integrated into the surrounding cliffs.
